ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER

This playful tenant improvement was created to be the flagship adoption center for Best Friends Animal Society. Visitors funnel through the ‘canyon’, and can observe cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies on either side. The stepped ‘cattery” creates a movement through the space, as well as encourages a cat’s natural curiosity, which draws passerby in.

The materials needed to be very specialized and durable, so much research was done to achieve a warm, natural, and high-end ambiance to dispel the bleak, institutional feeling that an animal adoption center tends to evoke.

This project was completed as part of Haley Wallace’s work at RA-DA Architects.
