RAYMOND F. REES TRAINING CENTER
The Raymond F. Rees Training Center is a regional training institute schoolhouse for the Oregon National Guard. There are classrooms, offices, conference rooms, and space for support staff.
As with many public projects, a major challenge with the Schoolhouse was the limited budget, which the design team turned into opportunity by using a pre-engineered metal structure. Through close collaboration with the supplier, the team modified the off-the-shelf specifications, and was able to transform a humble, utilitarian steel skeleton into a simple but elegant educational facility.
This project was completed as part of Haley Wallace’s work at SERA Architects.
