KANINE RIDGE CABIN REMODEL

Sitting atop Kanine Ridge in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon, this is an extensive cabin remodel to rectify years of neglect and weathering. The renovation includes a complete interior and exterior rebuild with a new floor plan layout, two new roof dormers, new balconies, a wrap-around deck, and an outdoor shower.

With a passion for entertaining, the client requested a space centered around a basalt fireplace. Just past, an 8' wide folding accordion door opens to a wrap-around deck and untouched rugged landscape. The kitchen features moveable bar seating, a pass-through exterior window for summer hosting, and a sink with a view.

Adding two roof dormers provided ample space for the primary bedroom, which has a walk-in closet and a separate fireplace. Also housed in the dormer is a full bathroom with a walk-in a stone-tiled shower with an expansive view of the valley.

Taking notes from the local geology and the patterns of world-renowned Pendleton blankets, the interior material concept is a contrasting blend of dark grays and blacks with natural wood accents and punches of bright red.
